Fun Theory Videos

The fine people at Volkswagen are on to something…it is called the fun theory. They believe that something as simple as fun can be used to completely change someone’s behavior. The Fun Theory says that people will change for fun “be it for yourself, for the environment, or for something entirely different, the only thing that matters is that it’s change for the better.” This is a simple theory, right? It ties in perfectly with experiential learning, or learning by doing, which is tons of fun!

Will people be more likely to take the stairs instead of the escalator if it is fun to climb the stairs???

If a trash bin made sound effects when trash was thrown in it, would people be more likely to throw things away?

Recycling is way more fun if you make a game out of it…

Will people slow down and drive the speed limit if driving the speed limit entered you into a lottery?

I encourage each of you to add some “fun” into your life. Mix things up, try some new things, energize your old curriculum. Experiential learning and team building activities should be fun! Have fun as a facilitator – you, your participants and everyone involved will be better off because of it!
